a  Network Security Engineer for the infrastruture domain within our Group Technology Department.

Your impact. 

At Mediahuis, security is a top priority as we work to build a safe and reliable working environment. To support this, we’ve created a dedicated project group for targeting key security goals that we enlisted for this year. We are looking for a freelance Network Security Engineer to work with us on a these projects. You will be responsible for designing, managing and securing the network within various Mediahuis projects. You guarantee the security and performance of the network structure and ensure it meets the highest security standards.

 Your role includes. 

• You will configure and secure network components (routers, switches, firewalls) to meet Mediahuis' operational needs and prevent internal and external threats.
• You will perform advanced troubleshooting and collaborate with teams to resolve issues, where you are responsible for implementing structural improvements to prevent recurring incidents.
• You will contribute expertise in network security within projects, implement technical solutions, and research new technologies to enhance security.
• You will work closely with the infrastructure and security team to ensure continuity, reliability and security of the IT infrastructure.

Is your ability to solve network problems and security incidents. With your analytical insight and your proactive approach, you have the ability to analyse complex technical problems and propose solutions and improvements. With your strong communication skills you are able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Furthermore experience in the following skills would help you get up to speed quickly:

• You have a background in Network Administration, Cybersecurity or a related field, and experience in network administration, with a strong focus on security.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols (such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security protocols.
• Experience configuring and managing network equipment such as LAN switches, firewalls, routers and VPNs.
• Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs and SIEM tools.

Collaborating with colleagues across various countries, you will develop innovative digital solutions used by all our media brands.

More specifically you will temporarily join the infrastructure domain and will work closely with other IT domains to make sure that the goals listed for this year are achieved for the long run.
