FinOps Practitioner

Ready to take FinOps to the next level? At Mediahuis, we’re building a hybrid IT organization that combines private and public cloud platforms. As a FinOps Practitioner, you’ll be the strategic driver behind cost transparency, governance, and financial accountability. Your insights will empower teams to make cost-aware decisions and ensure that cloud economics becomes a shared responsibility across the organization.

What you’ll do

You’ll lead the implementation of showback, enforce cloud tagging standards, and translate data into actionable insights that influence architecture and behavior. Working closely with cloud architects and application teams, you’ll make sure reporting is accurate, meaningful, and drives the right decisions. This is a strategic role focused on governance and stakeholder engagement. You will lead discussions in the areas of governance, forecasting, optimization and cultural adoption end to end.

More specific:

• Establish cost transparency across AWS, Azure, GCP and private cloud environments.
• Define and maintain unit cost metrics, and deliver dashboards and reports for executives, finance, and solution owners.
• Build rolling forecasts and advise on contract and commitment decisions.
• Enable the culture: run trainings and educate teams on FinOps Foundation concepts. Effectively turning cloud cost management into a shared responsibility

Where you’ll work

You’ll join our Cloud & Hosting team and collaborate with experts in architecture and application development. Together, you’ll create a future-proof cloud environment where cost control and innovation go hand in hand. At Mediahuis, we believe in collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement and your role is key to making that happen.

We expect you to work from our Antwerp office two days a week. Our hybrid policy allows you to work from home the other days of the week.

What you bring

You’re a strong communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels. You combine analytical skills with a pragmatic approach and enjoy building processes that truly work.

Hard skills:

• Proven experience in FinOps, cloud economics, or IT financial management (5+ years).
• In-depth knowledge of AWS and Azure billing models and tagging strategies.
• Ability to link architectural decisions to cost implications.
• Experience with dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI, Excel).
• Preferred: FinOps Certified Practitioner and cloud certifications (AWS/Azure).
