As Freelance Business Analyst, you’ll translate business needs, customer insights and strategic objectives into tangible solutions that deliver measurable value. Together with the Manager & Solution Owner, Delivery & Operations Lead and engineering team, you’ll turn business opportunities into clear, actionable solutions that can be delivered efficiently and effectively.

Your role includes.
- Gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements and translating business objectives into clear functional solutions and user journeys;
- Identifying opportunities to improve business processes and customer experiences, while challenging assumptions and helping stakeholders define the real problem to solve;
- Working closely with the Solution Owner to refine the product backlog, preparing epics, features and user stories and supporting prioritisation based on business value, effort and impact;
- Analysing customer journeys, defining success criteria and expected outcomes, supporting business cases and evaluating delivered solutions against their expected benefits;
- Collaborating with Developers, QA Engineers and Architects throughout delivery and supporting testing, acceptance and business validation;
- Managing dependencies and ensuring that business requirements remain aligned with delivery outcomes;
- Acting as a trusted partner for business stakeholders and facilitating communication and alignment between business and technology teams.
This is a freelance assignment with a hybrid way of working. You can be based in Belgium or the Netherlands, with Antwerp or Amsterdam as your main Mediahuis location. We expect you to be 2 days per week on your preferred location. Given the international scope of the team, we expect you to be flexible and willing to work from and travel between our different locations when needed.
What makes you a great fit?
What’s on your CV, is important but is by no means the only thing we attach importance to. You have proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst or Functional Analyst and are comfortable working within multidisciplinary technology or product teams. You have a strong understanding of digital products, customer journeys and business processes and know how to translate business needs into clear functional solutions.
You combine strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent communication and facilitation skills. You’re able to balance customer, business and technical perspectives, work in a structured and detail-oriented way without losing sight of the bigger picture, and constructively challenge stakeholders when needed.
As you’ll collaborate across our Belgian and Dutch organisation, a strong command of both Dutch and English is important. You feel comfortable communicating with different colleagues and stakeholders in both languages.
Experience in subscription-based businesses, media, digital publishing or customer-focused platforms is a plus. Knowledge of customer acquisition, retention and self-service journeys, experience with transformation or migration programmes and familiarity with Agile product delivery practices would also be valuable.

You’ll join TPS, the international technology organization of Mediahuis. Within the newly established team, you’ll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to create value through our current B2C platforms.

Your main Mediahuis location can be Antwerp or Amsterdam. As collaboration across locations is an important part of this freelance assignment, flexibility to work from different Mediahuis locations when needed is key.
