A Fullstack Developer (frontend-focused) with an interest in audio and video to join our Audio & Video team.

Our in-house media production is expanding rapidly. The solutions we build and maintain are widely used across multiple international news brands and reach millions of readers. You will collaborate closely with our newsbrands to further improve and expand the products.

Your role includes.

You will ensure the quality of our digital products and improve overall user experience and innovation You will focus on the development and maintenance of the products of our audio/video stack for all our newsrooms (international editorial teams) and customers who visit our digital channels

We work in a hybrid setup. Your team is mainly based in Antwerp. You’ll be working from the office two days a week (on Tuesdays and Thursdays), and you’re free to work from home the rest of your time. Your willingness and ability to travel to our Antwerp office (Linkeroever) is therefore really a must.

What makes you a great fit?

What’s on your CV is important, but by no means the only thing we attach importance to. Your proactive approach, problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate are even more crucial. Because you enjoy taking initiative and put quality first, you bring a positive yet critical mindset and are not afraid to challenge ideas when needed. This clear communication will keep everyone aligned. Fluency in English is therefore essential, and if you also know Dutch, that’s definitely a big plus. Last but not least, your agile drive will really make the difference.

That said, we do expect you to bring at least 3 years hands-on development experience to make a headstart (the more the better). Your work will be front-end focused but in an ideal world, we can also build on your experience when facing some back-end challenges. You have a solid understanding of: Typescript; React, SSR; Accessibility

Experience with the following tools is a plus:

Figma
VideoJS, React Router (V7), NextJS, NestJS, .NET
Gitlab / Github, CI/CD
AWS, Kubernetes, Docker
Azure Entra
Cloudfare

What’s about to become your second home?

You will join Technology & Product Studio (TPS), Mediahuis' Group IT & data department, within our Publishing Domain. More specifically, you will work in the product team responsible for both the Audio and Video Player on our websites, as well as the Media Asset Management system that is used daily by our editorial teams. Together, these two products provide the full end‑to‑end media pipeline for all Mediahuis brands, both on our own channels and on external channels such as Spotify.
