An Investment Analyst for a small team within Mediahuis that supports the Group Executive Team with the development of our growth strategy. And we believe that you are the right person.

Here’s a summary of what the job entails: 

• Screen media markets to understand important sector evolutions and to spot potential investment targets. You will draft insights from your research and present your findings and recommendations to the Mediahuis Executive Team and other stakeholders involved (e.g. Local CEOs, Board of Directors, …)
• Review investment opportunities that are brought to the attention of Mediahuis by founders, investment banks and other intermediaries
• Perform due diligence and be involved in all other elements of acquisitions (market and financial analysis, business plan development, sparring with advisors on tax, financial and legal topics of interest, investment negotiation, …)
• Set-up post-acquisition integration trajectories and successfully run a PMO for the key acquisitions
• Add value with your expertise in supporting or running strategic projects for Mediahuis

The main location for this role will be in Antwerp. We do count on your willingness to travel to the different Mediahuis locations abroad for specific assignments. Feel free to take a look at our group website.

In summary: You will be screening the media landscape to spot new investment or acquisition opportunities, support our M&A strategy and be involved in strategic projects for the Mediahuis group. Mediahuis is one of Europe’s fastest growing media organizations with a wide range of exciting news brands in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland, the UK and Germany.  Independent news brands and reliable journalism create the core of Mediahuis but we are also active in digital marketplaces, radio, television and sports activities.  

What’s on your cv,

Is important, but we don’t judge a book by its cover. Let’s be honest, we do appreciate a university degree in this position. But more importantly, we hope you know what it’s like to work in a dynamic environment and focus on strategy topics, thanks to a first working experience. We appreciate sound financial knowledge, abstract thinking, analytical and creative problem solving but also skills like project management, prioritizing and stakeholder management. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential. English is the working language used within our group, preferably you’re also fluent in Dutch, French or German.
