Mediahuis is looking for ...

A Fullstack Developer with an interest in newsletter and push technology to join our Publishing Domain. We believe you could be the perfect fit.

Your impact.

Our in-house built tool is able to compose and send newsletters and push messages. It is expanding rapidly and is already used by all international Mediahuis news brands. By always looking through the eyes of our user you’ll help us succeed in our ambition. Your work creates a pleasant user experience and guides the editorial user to compose even faster quality newsletters and push messages.

You’ve already started daydreaming? Keep reading, this opportunity is even better than you imagined!

Your role includes.

  • Ensure the quality of our digital products, but above all improve the overall user experience and innovation (think of new features, improvements and workflow optimalisations (possibly AI-driven). Our end users are both the internal editorial teams and the customers who receive our newsletter and push messages.
  • You keep a clear product vision in mind and carry it out from your role, always in close collaboration with our product owner. You think out of the box and can come up with new ideas or innovations to strengthen our product vision.
  • Based on scrum methodologies and an agile mindset, you perform thorough analyses to support decision-making and you believe in clear documentation
  • You are always willing to help your colleagues, also outside your specialties. They can count on you to help test, analyze new features, …
  • You can work independently but also attach great importance to a good team spirit.

We work in a hybrid setup. Your team is based in Antwerp. You’ll be working from the office two days a week, and you’re free to work from home the rest of the time. So being willing to travel to our Antwerp office (Linkeroever) is a must.

What makes you a great fit?

What’s on your CV, is important but is by no means the only thing we attach importance to. Equally important is your positive and critical mindset. You enjoy taking initiative, putting quality first and you believe in the power of collaboration. You see challenges everywhere and think in terms of solutions. Your strong analytical skills come in handy! Clear communication is key, with your teammates and all stakeholders. Since we’re a small team, you’ll naturally have more direct, frequent, and meaningful contact with the business, so your impact really matters! Fluency in English is therefore essential, and if you also know Dutch, that’s definitely a big plus.
Thanks to your initial experience as a full-stack developer, you bring hands-on development skills to the table. Do you lean a bit more towards front-end than back-end? That would make our team even more complementary. We expect a solid foundation in React with TypeScript, .NET Core (Entity Framework), PostgreSQL, Figma, and the main design principles. Do you have experience beyond that? Great. If not, no worries. We have a strong team ready to get you up to speed on Testing (xUnit, Mocha, …), MJML (email markup language), RabbitMQ, Git, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Datadog (or Application Insights).

What's about to become your second home?

You’ll join TPS, the international technology organization of Mediahuis. More specifically you will be working within our Publishing domain, in the product team that is responsible for both the push and newsletter studio. The products are widely adopted within Mediahuis and used by many (inter)national newsbrands that serve millions of readers. You will be working with the brands to further improve and expand the product.

It's up to you now!
