Will you help us build the next-generation data platform? As a Freelance Platform Engineer
you’ll play a key role in our transition towards a future-proof data platform, with Databricks at its core.
Your impact
At Mediahuis, data is at the heart of everything we do. To enable our data teams to move faster and smarter, we’re evolving our internal data platform towards Databricks. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll help shape, set up, and operationalize this new environment together with our platform architect and data engineers. You’ll be hands-on in building infrastructure with Terraform, implementing CI/CD principles, and ensuring a secure, automated, and scalable platform. You’ll translate technical concepts into clear actions for the team and help them embrace the new way of working.
Additionally, you…
- Contribute to the setup and rollout of our new Databricks-based data platform.
- Collaborate with data engineers to align platform needs and best practices.
- Take initiative, bring ideas and help the team to embrace the new platform.
What makes you a great fit?
You’re a hands-on engineer. You have the technical skills to get things done and the communication skills to explain the “why” behind them.
On top of this, you bring:
- Proven experience with Terraform.
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD concepts (GitLab experience is a plus).
- Experience with Azure and/or Databricks infrastructure (nice to have).
- Fluency in English (working language).
Your workplace
You’ll join our Data Platform team, a team with six data engineers working together to build the foundation for data-driven innovation across Mediahuis. You’ll collaborate closely with our architect. Your main workplace is Antwerp, with one day per week on-site. Hybrid work is also supported.
What do you get in return?
A challenging and meaningful assignment where your impact is tangible, you’ll help shape a critical data platform used across Mediahuis. An assignment for at least 6 months up to a year. Expect a professional environment, an open culture, and the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies in an organization that values innovation and collaboration.
